Buenas tardes amigxs!
It’s everyone’s favorite time of the week: a brand new issue of Pero Make It Newsy. Before we jump in, we want to let our amazing readers know that we’ll be taking next week off to rest and recharge. Don’t worry though, we’ll be back on June 9 with a fresh issue!
Now, let’s get to it!
3 Women More Qualified Than Andrew Yang to Be NYC’s Next Mayor 🗳
By Maria Elena Perez
There are six qualified female candidates who are running for mayor and a slew of other candidates who have worked within the New York City government or within the city’s communities. Meanwhile, Yang has never voted in a New York City election, controversially supported Israel in its ongoing battle with Palestine and says his favorite subway station is Times Square. (I bet his favorite store is M&M World too)

Women In The News 📰
Black Lives Matter Activist Sasha Johnson in Critical Condition After Being Shot: British activist Sasha Johnson was shot in the head on Sunday while attending a birthday party. Metropolitan Police say Johnson, who rose to prominence last year as racial justice protests sprung up in the UK, was likely an unintended victim of the attack. Police believe the 27-year-old mother of three was not targeted because of her activism. However, BLM did say that Johnson was the target of death threats.

Princess Party Time’s Paw-nderings 🐶
Henlo my favorite hoomans! Princess Party Time here, and I am here to tell you about the time I conquered my latest fear: the balcony.
My pawrents have a balcony right outside of their bedroom and lately, they’ve been spending a lot of time out there to enjoy the nice weather. They invite me to sit with them all the time but I used to get scared and wait for them to come back inside. Last weekend, I decided that it was time to conquer my fear and sit on the balcony with my pawrents while they ate dinner. They were so proud and my mama said I was so brave. I learned that life can be ruff and a little scary, but sometimes you have to conquer your fears for good things to happen.
